So Ian and I made the decision to start a blog a while back, but between his homecoming, a total of a month traveling, running off to Vegas to get married, my school work, and Ian recieving orders... yet again, the blog is now officially started.
Currently, I (Aubrey) live in our apartment in Surprise, Arizona. Yes, I am way out on the west side, but it is nice, and it is close to base. Ian accepted his orders to the Azores, and has 'moved' there for the next 15 months, which we are two months down now. Only 13 months left. :)
I am working two part time jobs for the time being and enjoying the summer off from school. I will go back in the fall and I will finally graduate with my AA next August.
Ian is working on an Island that is beautiful. He has his own apartment off base, and is trying to learn Portugese! He is experiencing the culture, and working on getting some amazing photos. Ian is also getting ready to start putting his portfolio together to apply at Syracuse for photo journalism school.
When Ian finishes this assignment, we have orders to Aviano, Italy! It was our second pick and we are ecstatic! A mix of emotions overwhelm me, but the opporunity to experience this with my soul mate outweighs everything else!
So, that is the low down on us for now. Living seperately is not very easy, or fun. Actually for me, it can be pretty boring. We miss each other like crazy, but we both know that this seperation enables us to do so much. We both also understand, that these fifteen months, isn't the first and won't be the last seperation. But, this is our life, and we make the best of it!
